Welcome to “Dalegarth” holiday cottage in Buckden.

Set in the glorious unspoilt scenery of Upper Wharfedale, at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and surrounded by a National Trust estate.

'Dalegarth' now offers just one cottage for holiday letting.  For the past 40+ years we have been members of VisitEngland (and its predecessors) and were always credited with their prestigious Four Star Gold Award; in 2022 we were presented with the VisitEngland 'ROSE Award' - in Recognition Of Service Excellence.  Going forward, it is our intention to maintain the same high standards. 

‘Dalegarth’ offers you the comfort of Gold Standard accommodation and is ideally situated at the head of Wharfedale from which to explore the whole of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. 

Whether rambling the vast network of footpaths, cycling or touring the country highways and byways, or riding down Wharfedale on the bus to Kettlewell and Grassington, or even beyond to Skipton, with its street markets and mediaeval castle, the cottage is ideally situated to explore this beautiful part of the world.

Hear the Dawn Chorus / haunting call of the oyster catcher. Smell fresh mown hay / the earth after rain. Taste fresh picked bilberries / newly baked curd tart. Watch out for the Milky Way – shooting stars, or even the Aurora Borealis....
