Buckden Village
What is the essential feature of Buckden? Location, location, location! Right at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. As residents of four decades, it still takes our breath away.
Set beside the River Wharfe, whose crystal clear waters are home to wild trout and otters, and surrounded by Fells, rising to over 2,000 ft., this idyllic location is ever-changing by colour and atmosphere. But don’t just take our word for it – follow in the footsteps of earlier Dales’ pilgrims and discover this wonderland for yourselves – all from the comfort of a cosy cottage at Dalegarth.
The village offers a welcoming pub with enticing log fires - not forgetting the Old Peculier brew! Our historic 12th century church lies a mile outside the village, at Hubberholme.
There are a further three pubs within two miles (or five pubs within four miles!) – little wonder that all footpaths radiating from Buckden appear to end at a hostelry.
