Arrival and Departure
We are here to welcome guests from 3 pm on arrival days. If you anticipate arriving after 6 pm please let us know. Departure by 10 am please – changeovers are busy days preparing for new arrivals. If these times present difficulties then please contact us and we will endeavour to meet your requirements.
Why Electricity charges?
Some guests sauna, others don’t; some cook extensively, others eat out; some guests are warm blooded, whilst others feel the cold; there are a range of reasons whereby the electricity consumption of different guests might vary considerably. We prefer to keep the rental tariff down and feel it inappropriate to invent an arbitrary additional flat rate fuel cost; it is fairer to charge each guest for the actual electricity consumed during their stay.
To help mitigate rising electricity rates we have installed solar panels.
Staying in Touch …
As in many rural areas mobile reception is patchy, however Vodaphone is widely available in the village and our cottage has WIFI and telephone, together with Sky TV, DVD player and USB points.
Bed Linen & Towels
All our high quality beds are made up with crisp white linen and seasonal non-allergenic duvets. If you prefer blankets please notify us in advance.
We provide 1 hand towel, 1 bath towel and 1 bath sheet per guest. All bed linen and towels are changed on a weekly basis – if you require further linen (at a nominal cost) please ask.
Each bedroom has a hair dryer.
Baby Needs
We are happy to provide travel cots, high chairs or stair gate, however we realise that small children are happier with familiar things around them, so please bring their own cot linen.
Kitchen Bits & Pieces
We hope you will find everything you require (other than your food – although this can be arranged!) No need to think about the mundane things like washing-up liquid, cleaning materials, dish cloths, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, kitchen rolls etc. – all will be in place.
Laundry
The cottage has washing and drying facilities.
Pets
Whilst we are pet lovers, in view of past experience and in consideration for our other guests, at Dalegarth we regret we can only accept one small, quiet, well-behaved dog, no more than terrier size, for which permission must be requested. The dog must never be left alone in the cottage and any damage done must be reported and paid for by the guest. No cats, larger breed of dog or other pets allowed, other than a Guide or Assistance dog.
Smoking
Please be aware that our cottage is designated ‘non-smoking’.
Parking & EV point
There is ample parking adjacent to Dalegarth cottage and an EV charging point is available.
Cycle Storage
Secure cycle storage is available at the cottage.
