Arrival and Departure

We are here to welcome guests from 3 pm on arrival days. If you anticipate arriving after 6 pm please let us know. Departure by 10 am please – changeovers are busy days preparing for new arrivals. If these times present difficulties then please contact us and we will endeavour to meet your requirements.

Why Electricity charges?

Some guests sauna, others don’t; some cook extensively, others eat out; some guests are warm blooded, whilst others feel the cold; there are a range of reasons whereby the electricity consumption of different guests might vary considerably. We prefer to keep the rental tariff down and feel it inappropriate to invent an arbitrary additional flat rate fuel cost; it is fairer to charge each guest for the actual electricity consumed during their stay.

Staying in Touch …

As in many rural areas mobile reception is patchy, however Vodaphone is widely available in the village and all our cottages have WIFI and telephone, together with Sky TV, DVD player and iPod dock.

Bed Linen & Towels

All our high quality beds are made up with crisp white linen and seasonal non-allergenic duvets. If you prefer blankets please notify us in advance.

We provide 1 hand towel, 1 bath towel and 1 bath sheet per guest. All bed linen and towels are changed on a weekly basis – if you require further linen (at a nominal cost) please ask.

Each bedroom has a hair dryer

Baby Needs

We are happy to provide travel cots, high chairs or stair gates, however we realise that small children are happier with familiar things around them, so please bring their own cot linen.

Kitchen Bits & Pieces

We hope you will find everything you require (other than your food – although this can be arranged!) No need to think about the mundane things like washing-up liquid, cleaning materials, dish cloths, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, kitchen rolls etc. – all will be in place.

All cottages have washing and drying facilities.

Whilst we are pet lovers, in view of past experience and in consideration for our other guests, at Dalegarth we regret we can only accept one small, quiet, well-behaved dog, no more than terrier size, for which permission must be requested.  The dog must never be left alone in the cottage and any damage done must be reported and paid for by the guest. No cats, larger breed of dog or other pets allowed. At The Ghyll we regret no pets other than assistance dogs.

Please be aware that all our cottages are ‘non-smoking’.

Ample parking is available adjacent to both Dalegarth & The Ghyll cottages.

Cycle Storage

Secure cycle storage is available at each cottage.

We can arrange for regular deliveries of milk/eggs from our local milk lady. Buckden has a small shop for newspapers and basic items – Kettlewell Village Store is well stocked and also sells wines and spirits. Grassington has a good selection of shops, including a Post Office, Chemist, Spar Mini mart, excellent butcher and baker.

Skipton: Tesco, Morrisons, and Aldi.

Leyburn: Co-op and Campbells, which has an excellent butchery department.

Supermarket deliveries are available from Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda and Morrisons. (The post code for The Ghyll is BD23 5JA and for Dalegarth BD23 5JU).
